total word count: 1300
One paper, 4 pages minimum, which compares two cases of social movements, technology/science/innovation, institutions, markets, economies (or ideas about them), described in the assigned readings is due by the date indicated (no films or video clips may be used). You may compare virtually any two objects from two separate assigned reading provided the comparison is logical and is discussed in a manner that is cogent and logical. For example, you could compare how the markets in Nouvelle Cuisine and cotton production developed and operate. As a second example, you could compare how the readings discuss the role of institutions in the readings on Nouvelle Cuisine and those by Alexander Hamilton/James Madison (the former discusses the role of culinary schools and media and the latter discusses the role of the state/government). You may use these examples, respond to the prompts below or create your own prompt that compares two objects from the assigned readings.
Please hand in the papers to one of the two GEs in class on the date it is due AND upload them on Canvas to be analyzed by Vericite. Note, all page limits exclude your name and titles etc. Please use Times Roman font, point 12, double-space your essays, one-inch margins on all sides. All work must be your own.
